Fashion has always been influenced by society, and visa versa. The comparative study of past meets future, is fascinating. It never ceases to amuse me watching racks of period clothing being pulled by fashion house assistants to be analyzed and copied. The military look continues on the runway for Fall 2010. This time the influences are from several different wars throughout history. Prada is showing futuristic and medieval with the shiny grey ensemble and chainmail against white. Chanel’s military look has Russian overtones. Galliano's runway has Berber Zouave for his men’s line, and for the women RTW military jackets over sheer skirts. Gareth Pugh, D&G, Burberry are all showing military for men.
