The Royal Treatment For Alexander McQueen

In a collection befitting "the McQueen", Alexander’s last collection was the perfect requiem. His amazing talent will be greatly missed in the fashion world. The Fall 2010 collection only had 16 pieces and was presented in a low key private event. The inspiration for the collection by his own words were "The old masters and Byzantine art". Personally I found the direction and influence to be mostly Tudor-Elizabethan (in contrast to Byzantine) and all very royal. The collection was a vast departure in inspiration from what was being shown on the runway by other designers- Not quite sure if this was a clue to his depression or absolute brilliance. Either way it was an amazing collection.
